Lambertville Hearts Oaxaca: How a Small Town Got to Know Their Mexican Neighbors

Most of the Hispanic population in the small town of Lambertville, New Jersey, hails from Oaxaca, Mexico. Though this growing population started migrating to Lambertville thirty years ago, most residents have been unaware of their heritage---until now. This short documentary highlights the history of Hispanics in Lambertville, explores the challenges in getting to know each other, and shows how the Oaxacans and the greater community put together the first-ever Oaxaca Festival held at the Lambertville Free Library, to celebrate their vibrant culture, fostering unity and stronger community connections.

Join us for this FREE end-of-the-year community celebration. The program features the first look at the film, along with special guests and residents who participated. We welcome all of Lambertville to join us for the discussion, followed by a lively, treat-filled reception! Directed and Produced by Lambertville resident, Trina Bardusco. Made possible with funds from the Hunterdon County Board of County Commissioners, administered by the Hunterdon County Cultural & Heritage Commission.

End of Year Fundraiser: All donations will support the making of the film and ACME Screening Room during their Annual Appeal.
